Please review the following job description:

Generate entries for premiums, fees, and/or commissions accurately and efficiently. Research billing discrepancies or issues, provide solutions, and communicate to stakeholders to ensure accurate billing, commission posting, and related financial reporting. We are only focused on interviewing candidates with previous Accounting (preferably Accounts Payable) along with Property & Casualty Insurance experience. This position is 100% remote, and you will work from your home office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Create invoices or entries for premiums, fees, and/or commissions within corporate systems using supporting documentation.

  2. Research invoicing or commission discrepancies, determine necessary action, and follow through to successful resolution. This includes searching for documentation and requesting information from teammates, insurance carriers, or third-party partners as needed.

  3. Serve as subject matter expert for questions related to billing.

  4. Adhere to all procedures and document corporate systems, as appropriate.

  5. Build and maintain relationships across business units, insurance carriers, and outsourcing partners.

  6. Proactively identify and recommend efficiencies and cost savings.

  7. Participate in project work groups.

  8. Provide support to colleagues within or outside immediate department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent education, training and work-related experience

  2. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills

  3. Proven ability to act with responsiveness, urgency and professionalism in all matters while prioritizing responsibilities and proactively accomplishing goals

  4. Strong work ethic, exhibited through acceptable attendance, management of appropriate workload, and willingness to admit mistakes and take ownership of performance

  5. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience within the P&C insurance industry.

  2. Previous accounting/Accounts Payable experience within insurance.
