Please review the following job description:

Business Transition Advisory Group (BTAG) Business Development Associate reports directly to the Head of the Strategic Client Group and is primarily responsible for:

(1) Providing internal new business development coverage to certain Community Commercial Bank (CCB) and Wealth regions. Business development includes activities related to identifying new transition event opportunities, education and engagement updates, and activities assuring the Strategic Client Group mission to activate and deliver all Truist resources as OneTeam for our most strategic clients. The activities may include participating in weekly / monthly sales meetings, client planning sessions, regional leadership meetings and 1x1's with Wealth Advisors and Commercial Bankers and orchestrating OneTeam calls around new opportunities.

(2) All aspects of financial reporting, data aggregation and analysis including weekly pipeline meetings, monthly OneTeam meetings, executive leadership reporting and ad hoc reporting as they pertain to new business development. In addition, from time to time the role may be responsible for production of PowerPoint presentations including internal and external client facing materials and other ad hoc presentations.


Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Deliver the BTAG value proposition with confidence to internal clients including primarily CCB and Wealth regions

  2. Engage with CCB and Wealth region's sales cadence to include weekly sales meetings, leadership meetings, 1x1 meetings with relationship managers and wealth advisors, portfolio reviews and client planning sessions

  3. Arrange OneTeam calls and drive OneTeam integration of Wealth CCB and CIG to meet client's needs that are evaluating strategic alternatives

  4. Utilize salesforce and other data to prepare weekly pipeline reports in support of sales management practices to drive revenue

  5. Prepare monthly executive leadership reports and monthly reporting decks in support of OneTeam meetings

  6. Collaborate with similar functions in Corporate and Institutional Group (CIG) and CCB to aggregate and synthesize data required in support of identification of new business opportunities, business analysis and reporting

  7. Develop PowerPoint presentation materials as required

  8. Complete ad hoc projects and business analysis in support of business development efforts


Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors or equivalent

  2. Preferred minimum 3 years' experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking or Wealth or Wealth Associate Training Program Graduate

  3. Proficient use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  4. Proactive, deadline oriented with ability to anticipate needs

  5. Self-starter with tenacious high energy

  6. Strong organizational skills

  7. Ability to aggregate and synthesize large amounts of data, analyze interpret and draw conclusions

  8. Familiarity with financial reporting

  9. Confident with excellent written and oral communication skills

  10. Adaptable
