The Strategist will be a technically savvy business expert and product specialists. They’ll wear many hats to understand the implications of emerging technology and its architectural ramifications and commercialization potential. You’ll focus on helping CE&I’s internal and external partners deliver competitive advantage through technical enablement that combines superior performance utilizing data and modern technically driven digital platforms. You’ll be an exceptional visual and verbal story teller that uses your specialized knowledge to understand partner problems, create strategies for change, and win buy-in for your recommendations.

In this role you will:

  • Demonstrate leadership across all areas of CE&I & Truist including: innovation, product development, delivery, incubation, and commercialization.

  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Support Truist Ventures team in understanding of technical aspects of new ventures and products.

  • Leverage marketing intelligence derived from competitive landscaping, client feedback, and future tech roadmap to unearth insights and connect CE&I to enterprise strategic objectives.

  • Become trusted strategic advisor so that stakeholders actively turn to you as they seek technical advice.

  • Interface technically with startup community and build portfolio of companies.

  • Analyze deal flow from a technical lens to understand imminent disruptions and identify tech acceleration opportunities.

  • Establish key performance indicators for innovation outcomes while also defining the business model and case for new technical products and services.

  • Test and validate assumptions while creating a sensitivity analysis for key technical drivers.

  • Assess internal capabilities and capacities to develop tech POV on innovation concepts.

  • Build framing reports (an overview and explanation of the project scope, objective, and hypothesis) for new technical initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Design, Product, Venture, and Engineering leads to define MVP builds in Innovators-In-Residence and across other areas.

  • Help develop lean start up approach to build MVPs.

  • Outline key role and player strategic management role on Fast Track POCs.

  • Help partners determine business case and KPIs on POCs.

  • Facilitate the build and testing of operational processes, systems, and reporting capabilities in innovation space.

  • Implement an early feedback loop to enable continuous feedback, learning, and iteration for ventures, products, and services.

  • Review service-level outcomes across support partners, ensuring accountability and providing feedback for change where required.

  • Help foster an environment of innovation and customer centricity, institutionalizing agile innovation practices and a customer insight-to-action culture.

Minimum Requirements -

1.Advanced degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  1. Eight years progressive related experience in managing enterprise technology organizations combined with overall twelve years progressive related experience in enterprise technology.

  2. Demonstrated experience in technology organization management, financial management, risk management, people management, issue resolution, influencing team members and other stakeholders, conducting difficult negotiations and managing to stringent timelines for project deliverables.

  3. Demonstrated superior understanding of business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs and policies.

  4. Demonstrated leadership in the implementation of complex programs and projects.

  5. Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous assignments.

  6. Demonstrated executive level verbal and written communication skills.

  7. Superior working knowledge of business matters, finance, planning, andforecasting.

  8. Experience managing a team of professionals, focused on business management or technology initiatives.

Preferred Skills-

  • 5-10 years of experience with technical strategy development, business planning, and future visioning.

  • Design or product development expertise.

  • Background with tech and digital initiatives, product prototyping, and testing.

  • A master’s degree (postgraduate, MBA or equivalent study).

  • Experience in a high-pressure start-up environment with exposure to multidisciplinary teams and/or involvement with a top-tier consulting firm.
