Please review the following job description:

Provide deep payments domain and technical expertise focused on Open Banking and Embedded Finance. Responsible for hands on development and engineering of software solutions that integrate across multiple teams inside and outside of the company Apply broad expertise with Agile teams, spanning multiple lines of business and multiple technology delivery teams.

Provide guidance and leadership to teams of engineers and collaborating with DevOps and Testing teams to ensure the delivery of commercial grade software.

Provide application, systems, or process design recommendations based on short- and long-term technology organization strategy. Contribute to architectural strategy and direction for multiple diverse application functions on a variety of multi-platform systems, to support the achievement of corporate business objectives.

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will participate in the definition and implementation of leading API management technologies to transform enterprises into the digital economy.

You will drive all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of applications developed for our clients. As a member in our team environment, you will collaborate with other API and Enterprise architects and developers on interpretation and translation of wireframes and functional requirements—leading to production quality APIs and solutions for our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Develop and execute application strategy in support of short- and long-term business plans as well as application implications and software development requirements.

  2. Lead the technical planning & requirements gathering phases including estimate, develop, test, manage Embedded Finance API projects, architect and deliver

  3. Help develop programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse / shared API flows.

  4. Apply in-depth knowledge of programming languages and designing, coding, testing etc.

  5. Responsible for the delivery of sophisticated API Management solutions. Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.

  6. Research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Viewed as a technical expert and critical technical resource.

  7. Support Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of API solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production. Help deliver supporting API documentation e.g. API User Guide, Developer playbook, Production Support Playbook etc.

  8. Act as a resource for teammates with less experience. May oversee workflow and provide coaching and training for a small team.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree and eight to twelve years of experience as a developer or equivalent education and related training or experience

  2. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge

  3. Sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes 4. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices

  4. Ability to lead complex projects

  5. Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems

  6. Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  2. Deep knowledge and hands on experience developing enterprise solutions based on REST API – Architecture, Implementation, Authentication/Authorization, Security, Monitoring etc.

  3. Experience implementing various integration / patterns with internal and external systems – oAuth, call backs, async, batch etc., API gateway (Mule, APIgee), security features.

  4. Understanding of security principals like third party systems using OAuth2, SSO, OpenID Connect, JWT

  5. Understanding of various payment rails, terminologies, and banking domain knowledge

  6. Experience with various Cloud technologies - AWS and K8s with various AWS services.

  7. Expertise in leading and participating in API based systems including designs, security controls, security policies and development of REST APIs

  8. Experience with delivery of Open API architecture and engineering projects, specifically with payment and money movement.

  9. Deep knowledge of API Gateways (preferably Apigee) and API’s function and design.

  10. Apigee Edge OR X OR Apigee Hybrid hands on development experience.

  11. Solid understanding of API Products, Apps, Analytics and API economy concepts

  12. Experience with Apigee or Custom Portal, Portal customization and integration with Apigee Edge using, Drupal, NodeJS, JavaScript etc.

  13. Experience with load balancers, firewalls, TCP, TLS, SSH, automated testing of APIs, Jenkins, CI/CD etc. concepts a plus

  14. Experience with microservices, service-oriented architecture, RESTful techniques.

  15. Experience with redesigning governance architecture processes.

  16. Previous experience with proxy implementation on GCP Apigee is highly preferred.

  17. Experience with architecture solutions transforming internal capabilities to external industry standards. (Open APIs, FDX).

  18. Experience with documenting the API landscape, identifying gaps between current systems and desired end-state; creating a roadmap to deliver end-state solutions. Banking or financial services experience.

  19. In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development & release practices. Experience supporting a team with solutions architecture in an agile environment.
