Please review the following job description:

Provide support to and strengthen the effectiveness of Industry Specialist(s) to which this position is primarily aligned. Manage all aspects of transaction execution working across internal and external partners. Supports all aspects of Industry Specialist’s origination efforts, with minimal oversight. Proactively develops industry specific content, represents industry through providing industry education for bankers and presents customized industry solutions via client and prospect engagement. Begins to independently identify high-potential opportunities, within respective industry, and recommend tailored solutions to drive increased value. Role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently as an industry expert representing the bank.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Primarily aligned with and provides support to Industry Specialist(s) and the Specialist’s respective industry(ies). With increasing frequency, engages with teammates independently to represent industry(ies) for the purpose of prospecting, training and education. Begins to independently formulate and develop industry specific thought leadership.

  2. Responsible for being visible and present in the regions through in person visits or regular conference calls; responsible for independently educating the regions and representing the industry(ies) on behalf of the Industry Specialist(s)

  3. Works with Industry Specialist(s) to deepen relationships with regions by attending planning sessions and setting up and running targeted planning calls with Relationship Managers and Team Leads

  4. Effectively works with internal and external constituencies with minimal oversight from Industry Specialist(s) toward a targeted goal of influencing and enhancing all constituents’ industry knowledge

  5. Responsible for independently managing all aspects of transaction execution including pitch creation, deal team formation, working call leadership and complex transaction issue resolution

  6. Takes leadership role in organizing and leading calls with deal team members from across the enterprise, as well as calls with external constituencies, independently representing Industry Specialty on calls and in meetings (including but not limited to risk, underwriting, legal, client, outside counsel, other outside firms) related to transaction execution

  7. Drives growth of industry(ies) through creation of industry specific content, including pitch materials, newsletters, industry presentations, internal educational documents, ad hoc publications, and independent thought leadership pieces all providing relevant insights for clients and prospects and developing industry-specific portfolio insights

  8. Continues to develop mastery of industry(ies) and displays advanced comfort level in client and partner interactions

  9. Supports Industry Specialist(s) in the development of industry-specific strategic growth initiatives; displays an increasing level of independent idea generation and revenue production; in coordination with Industry Specialist(s), creates white papers or business plans for key stakeholders, including risk, for the purpose of gaining buy-in and growing the business

  10. Works with Industry Specialist(s) to identify and manage relevant databases, subscriptions, conferences and other investment needs related to the industry(ies); provides thought leadership related to investments and internal databases including, but not limited to, pricing data, peer comps, transactions comps, market/transaction data

  11. Maintains organized information around industry portfolio; leverages portfolio knowledge to create dynamic action plans for industry clients; has a deep understanding of existing industry portfolio and related growth strategy

  12. Conducts industry and company research using available resources to source prospect names, developing and refining prospect lists in coordination with coverage team and partners; Directs, builds, and fosters new and existing business relationships by providing sales, research and targeted prospect lists to local relationship managers within respective Industry Specialty(ies)

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related financial services work experience

  2. In-depth knowledge of respective industry sector, banking and financial solutions

  3. Effective sales skills, relationship building behaviors and proven ability to quickly establish credibility with clients and internal stakeholders

  4. Resourceful and possessing ability to navigate internal complexities and work effectively in a distributed model

  5. Strong specialty, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  6. Ability to grow a network of industry contacts / Centers of Influence and demonstrated ability to monetize industry knowledge

  7. Strong leadership skills with a strong customer-service orientation

  8. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  9. Competitive drive and high work ethic, self-starter, team oriented

  10. High level of adaptability and flexibility with strong organizational and time management skills

  11. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  12. Willingness to travel and jointly call with clients and prospects
