Provides oversight and direct leadership on multiple concurrent projects/programs of varying size up to and including management of multiple active Core Technology and Operations initiatives with enterprise applicability. Influences and leads large-scale Core Technology & Operations governance program initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develops and implements Core Technology & Operations governance program routines, mechanisms, and processes to align with Truist Enterprise Policy Governance requirements.

  2. Leads / coaches leaders within Core Technology and Operations to design and deploy effective enterprise-wide oversight activities to include coordination of the development of monitoring plans and related management reporting.

  3. Works closely with Core Technology & Operations policy owners to develop comprehensive policies to provide coverage of regulatory guidance and key industry standards and leads efforts to develop and implement Core Technology and Operations policy and related governing framework components.

  4. Identify gaps in governing framework coverage and work proactively with appropriate Core Technology & Operations leaders to remediate through establishment of new standard requirements, controls and/or management reporting.

  5. Plans and coordinates closely with LOB/function managers and subject matter experts. Ensures that business cases are developed for budgeting, planning, and tracking revenue and/or expense, as applicable.

  6. Works closely with and provides direction to technology leads to support all related program needs.

  7. Ensures that program activities are on a path to deliver benefits realization.

  8. As pertains to assigned duties, proactively challenges the performance of current systems and processes, identifies risks, and develops solutions and/or processes that include appropriate risk mitigation steps.

  9. Readily recognizes at what point issues require escalation to management.

  10. Effectively navigates change and adapts work product to transitioning operating models.

  11. Leads teams or multiple teams of internal and/or external resources on a project basis.

  12. Analyzes and collectively manages variances to the program plan and makes recommendation and/or creates action plan to mitigate negative variances or to resolve issues.

  13. Prepares dashboard reporting to identify and communicate the health of the project portfolio for use by key executives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  2. Ten years progressive related experience in either a consulting, project management or process improvement related role

  3. Strong skills and experience in issue resolution, influencing team members and other stakeholders, conducting difficult negotiations and managing to stringent timelines for project deliverables

  4. Demonstrated superior understanding of business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs and policies

  5. Demonstrated leadership in the implementation of complex programs and projects

  6. Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous assignments

  7. Demonstrated executive level verbal and written communication skills

  8. Superior working knowledge of business matters, finance, planning, and forecasting

  9. Strong skills in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project)

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degree in a relevant field of work (e.g., MBA). PMP and/or PgMP

  2. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement, facilitation, and project management methodologies

  3. Experience implementing large/complex initiatives across a matrix organization

  4. In-depth knowledge of management and planning systems theory and practical application to complex initiatives

  5. Experience with financial measurements and metrics

  6. Financial Services experience

  7. Knowledge of business unit’s mission and processes

  8. Experience implementing large/complex initiatives across a matrix organization.
