Please review the following job description:
Provide leadership and direction in the Mortgage credit approval process for the Bank's Affinity/Wealth Division, including the ultra-high net-worth, wealth, and commercial client segments. Provide support and consultation to the Bank's retail mortgage lending staff and function as liaison between Affinity/Wealth Mortgage Lending Department and internal relationship partners.

Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to Affinity Underwriting Manager and staff to ensure the highest standards of credit decisions. Effectively and consistently execute upon strategies and processes to maximize Affinity/Wealth mortgage lending opportunities that meet the Bank's risk and profitability standards.
Provide assistance and direction to lenders and sales management on issues regarding mortgage lending policies, procedures, loan structure, pricing, etc. with special emphasis on the adherence to Bank's defined Retail Mortgage Loan Process.
Provide co-approval or decline credit requests of loan requests that are complex in nature and that pose higher credit risk.
Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to other Underwriting Managers within the Mortgage line of business and directly manage an Affinity/Wealth underwriting team when necessary.
Work closely with various leaders to identify trends or concerns developing within the Affinity/Wealth mortgage portfolio.
Develop and execute strategies in conjunction with the Affinity/Wealth Strategist designed to maximize productivity, growth and profitability while maintaining appropriate risk parameters.
Develop a strong working relationship with Affinity/Wealth Lending Officers and managers in order to take full advantage of the team's support and function. Provide clear feedback in order to collaborate on potential process improvements, as well as provide direct guidance and support.
Develop strong working relationships with appropriate Wealth Division Sales team and Commercial Lenders in order to create advocacy and partnership in balancing sales and service activities with appropriate risk management.
Assist with projects, particularly when expansive Mortgage underwriting and risk management knowledge/experience is a necessary component to achieve desired goals and outcomes.
Position may be able to be remote - must be located within the Truist footprint.

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and related training
10 years of large bank experience with strong emphasis in loan administration and credit risk management
Understanding of complex personal and business tax returns, cash flow analysis, trust agreements and other legal documentation utilized in complex lending situations
Strong leadership and management skills
Strong credit and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Master's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and related training
Graduate of the Bank's Leadership Development Program or similar training program at a financial institution
Retail and commercial lending experience
Experience in affluent client underwriting or risk management
Experience in technology-based, multi-project work environment
Experience in public speaking and group facilitation
