Assist the Mortgage Lending Closing Officer in the closing of mortgage loans, completing the funding process for closing transactions and ensuring loans are submitted to Post-Closing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Assist the Mortgage Lending Closing Disclosure (CD) Specialist/Officer in the review of mortgage loans for closing, which includes reviewing and accepting all loan conditions, uploading all required funding documentation to the e-file, completing a final peer review of the CD/US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-1, and obtaining verification that the borrower is actively employed within ten days of closing (the note date). 2. Fund mortgage loans by completing the funding process, which includes verbally confirming with the Settlement Agent (wire instructions, balancing wire amount), releasing the wire (once required funding documentation is received from the CD Specialist), releasing of the funding number to the Settlement Agent upon receipt of required documentation, and ensuring the file is submitted to Post-Closing. 3. Adhere to all compliance regulations, as directed. 4. Conduct proactive and effective pipeline management in accordance with performance standard expectations. 5. Efficiently utilize automated mortgage processing system. 6. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, internal and external clients/business partners and vendors. 7. Obtain required credit and compliance documentation for assigned files. Required Skills and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Two years of experience as a Mortgage Lending Closer or equivalent 3. Completion of required Mortgage Lending Closer training within set timeframe 4. Ability to utilize mortgage automated processing system 5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in relating to internal and external clients 6. Good organizational skills and ability to develop solid understanding of underwriting guidelines 7. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products 8. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight Desired Skills: 1. Bachelor’s degree in business-related field 2.
