Please review the following job description:

Provides oversight for Data Platform projects and/or segments of large Data Platform programs for various lines of business. Breadth of responsibility includes financial and business project requirements as well as the day-to-day management of teammates. Provides hands on platform design and development as well as manages a multi-disciplinary team that includes data analysts, architects, and/or developers. Understands and translates business needs into project and team objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the data quality rules and results platform aiding in building the data ecosystem for delivering enterprise data quality metrics for wide consumption by Data analyst and scientist.

  2. Build, manage, and implement the data quality rules capabilities to support all data quality execution aspects of source data quality checks and phases of the ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes.

  3. Lead efforts related to partially to completely automate repeatable data quality integration and execution tasks. Partner with technology teams to understand data sources, rules execution, results registration to support end-to-end data pipeline requirements.

  4. Partner with platform engineers, data scientists, data stewards and owners to define and refine data quality rules and results for all types of data sources (File System, RDBMS, Big Data, Cloud).

  5. Take a new perspective on existing solutions to solve problems of the highest complexity and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and make recommendations.

  6. Lead larger, more complex data engineering projects and initiatives with significant risks and resource requirements.

  7. Partner with business leaders in understanding IT processes and restrictions.

  8. Monitor progress of the team relative to established objectives and priorities. Manage performance and provides coaching as needed. Ensures that projects are delivered according to Enterprise Technology policies and procedures.

  9. Work closely with senior leaders within Enterprise Technology and in the assigned line of business. Aligns appropriate support teams to ensure performance by demanding a strict performance-based measurement process for teammates.

  10. Organize, plan, and manage projects. Partners with others within technology and the business on the execution of delivery projects from conception through implementation. Makes judgments about priorities and the team's approach to work based on an understanding of how the team contributes to the achievement of broader objectives.

  11. Adapt plans to meet service and/or operational challenges. Identifies and resolves technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges. Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

  12. In an Agile environment, may serve as the "IT Leader."

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree and six years of experience managing complex IT projects or equivalent education and related training or experience

  2. Demonstrated experience in project management/delivery teams

  3. Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and implement best practices to improve products, processes, or services

  4. Knowledge of technology structures that incorporate variable staffing evolving platforms, cost and value arbitrage value propositions. Knowledge of business process reengineering and operations

  5. Broad view of how industry and technology changes impact technology and client experience through digital channels. Strong business acumen and domain expertise in the assigned portfolio. Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure

  6. Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities. Ability to influence and negotiate to enable agreement on scope, cost, and schedules

  7. Ability to manage a team, including identifying and recruiting talent, managing performance, and making decisions about resource allocation

  8. Strong understanding of Data lifecycle management

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.

  2. Have 8 years of progressive experience in software development / engineering positions utilizing programming/scripting languages, include SQL, Spark, Scala, Python, Hive, Hadoop, Bash and UNIX.

  3. Have at least 4 years of experience with Data Quality platform preferably Atacamma. ( Using data quality tools for data profiling, cleansing and standardization)

  4. Specialized knowledge of Data Quality Dimensions, SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT architecture, data integration concepts and big data concepts.

  5. Planning and Managing Enterprise Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mart projects.

  6. Data acquisition, transformation, quality, and storage design using design principles, patterns, and best practices.

  7. Working within a team environment and interacting with data professionals and business data SMEs throughout the organization.

  8. Utilizing build and deployment tools, including Maven, CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab and Jenkins), Agile methodologies and short release cycles.
