Please review the following job description:

Accountable for managing a team who core responsibility for the development and maintenance of technical IT/cyber security capabilities that identify, classify and protect the firm's sensitive data from improper data use and data loss. Design, plan, test and implement phases of cybersecurity technology projects that expand and enhance these capabilities.


Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Lead the development and maintenance of the Data Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle and associated BAU/Operate status post-deployment..

  2. Provide and direct the development and continual review/update of the Data Protection architectural vision, including the long-term roadmaps intended to meet regulatory and privacy compliance and alignment with Cybersecurity control frameworks, such as NIST CSF.

  3. Partner with architecture, Enterprise Data Organization, and Cloud Operations strategy teams on the evaluation, testing, selection, and architectural design of new solutions covering data platforms and data movement across organizational boundaries on premises and in the firm’s cloud tenants.

  4. Develop/invent highly innovative solutions and techniques that maximize multiple information security technologies to expand overall Data Protection coverage.

  5. Lead and direct activities of a team with diverse skillset across multiple information and data loss prevention solutions..

  6. Set the team's direction and communicate individual and team priorities and deliverables for the team against expected results.

  7. Collaborate with peers and executives across the organization to manage and communicate changes impacting business, technology and other areas within Cyber Security.

  8. Prepare and present current state and direction for data protection to Regulators as well as Risk, Audit and Compliance partners.

  9. Make leadership decisions within established policies, procedures, and established objectives.

  10. Lead highly complex and visible projects with notable risk and complexity.


Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and ten to twelve years of experience in systems engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  2. Strong functional and technical knowledge of information/cyber security capabilities with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: Encryption, Data Security, Application Security, End Point Security, Identity and Access Management, Windows/Unix/Linux Systems Security, Mainframe Security, Perimeter Security, Network Security, Mobility Security, Cloud Security, Cyber Security, Cryptography, or Authentication Systems

  3. Strong understanding of service lifecycle management, strategic planning, and the cyber security landscape

  4. CISSP Certification Previous supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree or MBA and ten years of experience in business analysis or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  2. Banking or financial services experience. Prior management experience

  3. Experience in leading large-scale complex projects from beginning to end.

  4. ISSEP Certification

  5. Other security certifications (e.g. CCNA Security, GSEC, GCED, GPPA, etc.)

  6. Other technical Certifications (e.g. CCNA, RHCE, MCSE, etc.)

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding

Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.


Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
