The Governance & Controls Organization (GCO) Senior Governance and Reporting Consultant I will effectively execute key risk governance and reporting activities needed to drive accurate, risk-focused reporting and policy management for Enterprise Technology.

The scope for this position includes reporting governance of Enterprise Technology content presented to Truist committees, key program offices, and regulators, as well as Enterprise Technology policy governance.

This position will be responsible for driving coordination of reporting governance activities across Enterprise Technology and the GCO.

Additionally, this position will perform policy governance activities to ensure proper management of Enterprise Technology policies as well as awareness of policy exceptions.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Provide coordination, effective challenge and oversight of policies and committee materials to support an effective governance structure focused on effectively managing and mitigating risks within Enterprise Technology.

  • Provide consultative leadership and develop working relationships across Enterprise Technology (ET), ET GCO, and the Risk Management Organization to drive risk-focused materials and effective management of ET policies.

  • Perform thorough reviews and effective challenge of Enterprise Technology content prepared for committees, key program offices and regulators.

  • Facilitate cross functional activities with other lines of business GCO teams.

  • Liaison with Audit, Enterprise Reg Relations, Compliance and Risk Management organizations.

  • Provide backup assistance with committee materials preparation inclusive of agenda, materials, prep meetings, and minutes, as needed.

  • Facilitate risk-based discussions and provide effective challenge to ensure materials appropriately address key risks.

  • Special Projects for the GCO team and/or the Enterprise Technology business unit.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Communications or equivalent education and related training.

  • Three to five years of financial services or risk management experience or demonstrated equivalent proficiency.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with ability to interact and communicate within all levels of organization, across functions, and within public sector/governmental agencies.

  • Strong analytical, cognitive, conceptual, critical thinking and organizational skills.Demonstrated leadership, communication (verbal and written), presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated planning ability with demonstrated judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
