The Quantitative Audit Staff is responsible for leveraging their technical background to assist in the assessment of inherent risk exposure for models and other quantitative tools implemented across Truist. They will strengthen their knowledge of evaluating models and the risks associated with models, and will help to interpret the results of audit work performed, determine internal control weaknesses, and make value-added recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare for and assist in technical review assessments of model validations and reviews completed by the Truist Model Risk Management Team.
Prepare for and assist in evaluating the appropriateness of model approaches, by assessing methods rooted in Mathematics, Data Science, Quantitative Analytics, Engineering, and/or Statistics and their application in creating financial and non-financial models used in the day-to-day operations of various bank business lines.
Analyze and assist in identifying and assessing risk that is inherent to the use of models in a financial institution.
Assist in the formulation of conclusions on risk management of models through the assessment of Model Risk Management’s model validations and annual reviews.
Develop and maintain specialization and expertise in complex modeling concepts as well as developing knowledge of auditing concepts and risk management practices, and pursuing continuing education and possible additional professional certifications, as appropriate.
With support of more experienced Quantitative Auditors, collaborate with various audit delivery teams and provide subject matter expertise for models. Obtain exposure to various bank business lines through the assessment of models implemented throughout Truist.
Create work papers in line with Truist Audit Services procedures and documentation requirements.
Receive constructive feedback and apply to future assignments.

A four year degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Sciences, and/or Quantitative Analytics.
Effective exposure to programming languages such as R, Python, or C++
Effective exposure to database management tools such as SAS and/or SQL
Ability to work well within a team.
Ability to take direction and work independently at times.
A desire to work in a risk management function such as Audit.
Proficiency with standard software applications such as MS Office.
Completed or nearing completion of post-graduate education with a focus on Data Science for Quantitative or Financial Analytics
Work experience with model validation, model development, or an Audit equivalent technical review team, preferably in a banking environment
