Manage a diverse team in the development and implementation of solutions to support cross-functional strategies to improve data governance, process management and data performance and effectiveness in the overall Finance and Risk Organization by adhering to prescribed data quality programs and sourcing and support strategies for Executive Management and regulatory reporting. Oversee the design and delivery of solutions that support the fundamental data and governance process for the Bank to effectively provide seamless, reconcilable processes and systems that adhere to corporate governance and regulatory requirements. Collaborate to deliver strategic, visionary solutions with certified data that maximizes the Bank’s investment to be leveraged across the organization. Adhere to best practices to create superior finance data acquisition solution models, while maintaining the Perfect Client Experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Supervise day-to-day activities associated with the processes to analyze and acquire the data necessary for multiple regulatory reporting templates, schedules and packages and data to support multiple accounting and risk methodologies and calculations. Manage teams analyzing and acquiring data from multiple source systems, including adherence to governance and controls to support the attestation processes for data consistency and completeness in support of the proper mapping from source to provisioning. 2. Supervise teams in establishing appropriate data acquisition processes in support of defined governance, balance and control methodologies. 3. Integrate within the organization to remediate and/or engage with on-going system and data projects. 4. Lead activities necessary to support the day-to-day operation in providing data for the Finance and Risk Organization’s process and reporting needs. 5. Work with Bank Analyzer and Business Warehouse – Business Intelligence Reporting Leads to understand functional and business requirements in order to acquire the necessary data needed for provisioning process. 6. Work with first line of defense Data Governance and Process Management teams to develop, enhance and measure governance compliance and process controls in support of on-going operations and reporting out to internal and external audits. 7. Plan and coordinate enablement of full end-to-end testing processes for new data acquired. 8. Coordinate governance reviews of data acquisition, remediation and improvement projects. 9. Assist in coordinating, with the Finance Integration Services (FIS) Officer and Audit Services, the review of controls and data quality by all departments. 10. Coordinate preparation and reconciliation to other data acquisition environments supporting external information to Federal regulators or shareholders. 11. Perform research on technical data issues. 12. Assist in communication with external auditors along with Audit Services staff and the FIS Officer. Required Skills and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science or equivalent education and related training 2. Ten years of experience in data operations, management and governance 3. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent quality/process improvement-related designation 4. Training in data management programs and computer programming languages with an emphasis on SAP, SAS, ABAP, BOBJ, PAL and SQL Server 5. Expert knowledge in data management principals and data quality measurement techniques leveraging computer systems, such as SAS, SQL, Excel, Access, UNIX, and forecasting models (such as Quantitative Risk Management) 6. Expert knowledge of data modeling and mining technologies and processes 7. Experience leading data implementation, quality or process improvement initiatives in a financial services environment; focus on accounting, profitability, capital management, risk and financial reporting preferred 8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 9. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 10. Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to interact with all levels of management effectively 11. Excellent negotiating, conflict management and consulting skills 12. Proven experience in public speaking and group facilitation 13. Strong quality orientation and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks or programs simultaneously 14. Experience in data modeling and developing traditional data warehousing and data marts supporting finance and risk data and reporting 15. In depth experience with financial systems including: General Leadger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Human Systems, Profitability, Risk, Asset Liability Management and Liquidity and Risk Management 16. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products, as well as quality software applications (e.g. SPC XL, Visio, MINITAB) 17. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight Desired Skills: 1. Master’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems or Statistics 2. Six Sigma Black Belt certified 3. Information Technology Infrastructure Library/Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (ITIL/COBIT) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) certification 4. Informatica (ETL) experience 5. Experience with Hadoop, HANA and Netezza warehousing 6.
