Lead a team responsible for technology solutions that meets business needs and satisfy fraud and data requirements of the Fraud Solution & Services Organization. This role, which is focused on enabling Fraud Data Analytics, is also engaged with many business and technology partners. A primary driver of success will be ability to partner with upstream and downstream groups (users, providers & vendors), applications, architecture teams, technology tool teams. Must be adept at data discovery, source identification, profiling, data governance concepts, privatization, enterprise technology standards, ETL design, big data, cloud engineering concepts, reporting and analytic design, analytic tool platforms. Existing awareness of banking products, transactions, fraud concepts is highly desired. Ability to establish relationships with Fraud Strategy and Fraud Management Teams and anticipate needs and values is key.

Team is focused on acquiring, transforming, and outputting data through several tools: Informatica, Ab Initio, SnowFlake, SAS Enterprise Guide. Additional tools likely to be engaged in future include more cloud-based tools like Arena, Talend, Matillion, and Alation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritizing and requesting data capture in enterprise repositories for analytic support, fraud applications needs.

  • Coach Fraud Analytics Data Delivery Team on design, new standards, tool skills.

  • Daily team guidance – prioritization, handle escalation for assistance, review design & code, engage additional teams for support.

  • Provide business context to data requests team is working so team learns Fraud concepts.

  • Sharing data management concepts with partnering reporting team as needed

  • Application Owner – ensuring application is properly documented, adheres to all enterprise controls and standards.

  • Researching data – availability, sourcing, quality, relationships, lineage

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and equivalent combination of advanced education and experience, which could include any combination of 8 years of experience in IT software engineering, 5 years’ relevant business experience (i.e. making technical-related decisions on the business side), 5 years’ experience in project management, and at least 2 years of management experience

  2. Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators

  3. Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions

  4. Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services

  5. Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure, particularly with enterprise-wide implications

  6. Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of complex business objectives and priorities

  7. Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct the engineering and deployment of delivery projects in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules, and budgets, including Agile methodologies.

  • Oversee the planning, design, engineering, testing and deployment of application projects in conjunction with a variety of resources, which may include Waterfall or Agile approaches.

  • Apply an in-depth understanding of systems engineering and administration and a basic understanding of other IT disciplines in guiding and coaching team members.

  • Adapt plans to meet service and/or operational challenges. Identifies and resolves technical and business evolving needs based on new fraud attacks.

  • Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews. In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion. Primarily responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks. Leverage engineering practices to deliver business value. Responsible for oversight of software engineering, unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Oversee warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. Ensure developed code is in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

  • Fraud – understanding of financial fraud and the data required to identify and prevent the different types of attacks.

  • SAS – work with business partners building out SAS solutions to identify fraudulent activity.

  • AWS Development – basic understanding of AWS Cloud development and the services available.

  • AWS Cloud Security – understanding of cloud security and the tools required to protect data at rest, and data in transit.

  • Ab Initio – tool for 4th generation batch-processing application, data manipulation, and data analysis.

  • Arena – software used for simulation modeling.

  • Talend – comprehensive collection of services and software solutions for managing data from multiple sources.

  • Matillion – data integration platform that integrates with data sources to ingest data into cloud platforms (e.g., AWS and Snowflake) and also transforms data into analytics-ready state with can be used by analytics and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, and Sigma).

  • Alation – data catalog tool that helps organizations identify, understand, and manage their data assets.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.

Availability

Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
