Please review the following job description:

Provide internal service support for TIME’s client firms and their financial advisors (FA) on all term cases under a certain premium amount. This support includes taking incoming calls from FAs, providing life insurance quotes, sending applications and supplemental forms out for completion, and assisting the FA with product selection and application completion, if requested. The TSS will also communicate with the FA for the Term Case Manager on other-then-applied cases when requested.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Be able to accept incoming calls from financial advisors referred by case designers, RSs, ISs, and from the help desk team.

  2. Have a clear understanding and knowledge of our wirehouse firms, their requirements, there term desks and term insurance internal resources (intranet sites, etc….), and TIME’s supporting role within their systems.

  3. Be able to explain to a financial advisor how life insurance products work (in particular all term products approved by our client firms).

  4. Be able to explain to a financial advisor how to determine the amount of life insurance needed.

  5. Be able to communicate in writing or over the phone in a professional and effective manner to your clients.

  6. Have a basic understanding of the underwriting process and your support role within it.

  7. Be able to manage and support a high case volume efficiently and professionally.

  8. Have a clear understanding of your role as a term sales specialist and be able to explain it to your clients.

  9. Have a good knowledge and understanding of life insurance applications (and all the supplemental forms) and how to complete them.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: High School Diploma (required) and 2-4 years of college level or equivalent classes preferred, not required.

  2. Must possess an active Life Insurance license.

  3. Minimum Experience required: At least 1 year of sales desk life insurance selling experience or comparable selling experience in another field (via phone or direct sales).

  4. 1 to 2 years experience working for a life insurance company on the sales desk, new business dept, case design dept, or marketing area would be preferred.

  5. Skills Required: Be skilled in use of a PC and programs like Word and Excel systems, have good typing skills, possess very strong customer service skills, proficient in use of most standard business office equipment (i.e. fax, email, copier, etc), possess good writing, grammar, speaking, and listening skills.

  6. Required to have some basic understanding of the life insurance product (specifically term insurance) and how the various kinds of life insurance work.

  7. Be very familiar with the life insurance application and how to complete them. .

  8. Must possess strong task and time management skills.
