We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our development team as a Master Data Management Software Engineer. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our core mainframe applications and help drive our modernization efforts. You will have the opportunity to apply your deep technical expertise to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that keep our business operations running at peak efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Builds, manages, and implements the data and/or Big Data pipeline capabilities including data modeling, process design and overall data pipeline architecture and all phases of the ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes.

  2. Leads efforts related to partially to completely automate repeatable data preparation and integration tasks. Partner with technology teams to understand data capture, testing needs, and to build and test end-to-end solutions.

  3. Partners with engineers, data scientists, and the data office leadership to define and refine data architecture and technology choices.

  4. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions to solve problems of the highest complexity and exercise judgment based on the analysis (e.g. modeling, testing, etc.) of multiple sources of information and make recommendations.

  5. Leads larger, more complex data engineering projects and initiatives with significant risks and resource requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in systems engineering or administration or equivalent education and related training or experience

  2. Specialized knowledge of SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT architecture and concepts, data integration concepts and big data concepts

3.Previous experience in planning and managing IT projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ability to design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, and related technologies.

  2. Identify and lead efforts to apply mainframe modernization techniques and align with technology architecture roadmaps.

  3. Experience with change data capture and data replication solutions to seamlessly move data between core mainframe and distributed systems using, Ab Initio, CDC, Q Replication, Qlik Replicate, etc.

  4. Manage and maintain CICS transactions, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

  5. Knowledge and experience in data modeling and with application of other database types e.g., NoSQL, graph, document, columnar, etc.

  6. Integration design experience with any of SOA, API, or event-driven systems

  7. Collaboration across teams including developers, testers, production support, system administrators, and business stakeholders. Ability to prepare and present material to different audiences.

  8. Educating and mentoring teams on solution design, implementation approaches and best practices.

  9. Creating and organizing technical system documentation, data documentation and process flows.

  10. Strong Banking and Financial services experience.

  11. Have working experience with Agile development methodologies.

  12. Experience working within policies and frameworks across SDLC, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Controls, and Risk Management.
