Please review the following job description:

Team member of a block-of-business that is responsible for preparing client facing tools and solutions to manage their employee benefits programs. Execution of marketing and procurement process and confirmation of insurance coverages with carriers partners for both new and renewal business. Build and grow relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and teammates. Become knowledgeable of applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, alternative funding arrangements, underwriting, data analytics, and legislative changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Prepare client facing materials for various meetings throughout the year (i.e., pre-renewal, strategy sessions, post-OE meetings, etc.).

  2. Pull monthly claims reports from carrier websites and format into branded presentations

  3. Prepare financial projections for fully-insured and self-funded clients (typically delivered annually at or around pre-renewal timing)

  4. Build out medical rate projections and proposed contribution models

  5. Liaison with specialty actuarial team in coordinating quarterly reporting for clients on data analytics platform

  6. Obtain loss runs, preparing loss summaries, and preparing loss history analyses, stratifications, and loss forecasters as requested.

  7. Research claims issues as related to loss runs/loss summaries.

  8. Perform analyses of and/or review experience calculations and relevant information from other analytical and evaluative tools and sources.

  9. Quote/rate various online programs for multiple insurance carriers.

  10. Support the submission process, including to but not limited to assisting in the development of submissions, creating transmittal communications for sending submissions to carriers.

  11. Follow up with carriers to confirm receipt of submissions and assist with obtaining and providing additional information requested by carriers.

  12. Compare coverages, terms, and conditions of quotes.

  13. Prepare proposals, finance agreements, other presentations, and/or certificates of coverage as requested

  14. Attend and meet with carrier representatives, as requested.

  15. Become knowledgeable about insurance carrier products and programs.

  16. Assist Producers in sales efforts, including responding to Requests for Proposals and participating in prospect meetings as requested.

  17. Understand and utilize the client management system(s) and other relevant technology platforms.

  18. Attend seminars, classes, and carrier meetings to keep abreast of new products available for clients and acquire expertise in legislative changes.

  19. Other projects, job duties, and responsibilities as requested by Producers, account teams, and/or management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent education

  2. Relevant insurance industry education, training, or experience

  3. Appropriate insurance license(s) preferred

  4. Basic insurance knowledge with a strong desire to learn and achieve insurance designations

  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients, market contacts, and teammates

  6. Strong persuasion skills and tact to obtain information and successfully interact with clients, carriers, and teammates

  7. Discretion and analytical skills to analyze client information, proposal competitiveness, etc.

  8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite

  9. Ability to travel overnight

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. College degree or equivalent education and/or experience

  2. Insurance industry certifications in addition to necessary license(s)

  3. Significant prior insurance industry experience and knowledge of carriers and markets
