Please review the following job description:

Engage with Business Unit in its management of risks and controls as well as its execution of risk program requirements. Assist with the execution, facilitation and/or monitor execution of Risk Program requirements (e.g., RCSA, KRIs, etc.) within the assigned areas of a Business Unit. Assist with the aggregation, integration, correlation, and reporting of risks for assigned areas of a Business Unit. Assist with the identification of remediation to address weaknesses related to inadequate or failed processes, people, and systems, or external events and ensure effective remediation.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Support Risk Advisors with risk advice, through engagement with appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and GCO peers, to assigned business areas within the Business Unit across all risk types to strengthen control environment (control design, implementation, evaluation, and reporting) and support adherence to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

  2. Assist Risk Advisors in the identification and remediation of control gaps within assigned business areas.

  3. Assist Risk Advisors with identification, measurement, monitoring and escalation of key and emerging risks; Asist Risk Advisors with reporting and communicating risk results and escalate material concerns to GCO Leadership.

  4. Along with the Risk Advisors, monitor risk mitigation and risk acceptance decisions to ensure a balanced operating environment through formal issues management program and other applicable routines.

  5. Assist Risk Advisors with the execution of Enterprise and Risk Program requirements to effectively identify, measure, report, and mitigate risks; Utilize analytical tools as appropriate to support assessments of risk.

  6. Working with Risk Advisors, report and communicate risk results and escalation of material concerns to GCO Leadership.

  7. Assist the Risk Advisors with the execution of control monitoring and testing activities to assess effectiveness of control environment.

  8. Working with the Risk Advisors, update, monitor and track controls, including those aligned to SOX and regulatory requirements.

  9. Support the Risk Advisors with the execution of risk management initiatives at the direction of GCO Leadership.

  10. Other activities and special projects, as deemed required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent education and related training.

  2. One to three years of experience in a financial or other institution with emphasis on risk management or equivalent work experience and training.

  3. Understanding of SOX and other industry-related regulatory requirements.

  4. Knowledge of operational and other non-financial risks.

  5. Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to change and competing priorities.

  6. Strong written and verbal skills.

  7. Uses judgment but close supervision is required for most tasks.

  8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

  9. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in Finance or Business, or equivalent education and related training.

  2. Six plus years of banking or relevant experience.

  3. Audit experience.

  4. Strong knowledge in field of assigned business unit(s).

  5. FINRA Series 7, 24, 53, and 66 licenses (Series 9&10 can be used in lieu of 53. Series 63&65 can be used in lieu of Series 66).
