Please review the following job description:

Responsible for assisting in the continuous improvement of the management of acquired loan information and the aggregation, calculation and analysis of reports provided to third-party investors, including development of database and reporting tools. Assist in ensuring that reporting on the various loan portfolios are in compliance with company policies and procedures and third-party investor requirements. Responsible for the management of Investor Reporting/Accounting Analysts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a recognized expert level internally and externally in the identification of management self-identified issues and risks and proposes solutions.

  2. Assist in providing subject matter guidance to business line managers or external contacts.

  3. Proficiency in Mortgage Servicing Platform (MSP) for the purposes of training and monitoring of investor reporting.

  4. Create and manage project schedules, including Bank-wide initiatives.

  5. Manage projects with Information Technology (IT) to conduct testing and ensure timelines are met.

  6. Assist in the development of data fields to manage acquired loan reporting. This includes standards for the department as well as the appropriate quality control assessments for audit purposes.

  7. Assist in the development of Excel or database programs to conduct ad-hoc analysis and support continuous improvement of database driven investor reports.

  8. Support the production of monthly and quarterly investor reports and the associated underlying asset-level detail.

  9. Aid in the comparison of individual loan-level data against agreements to ensure accuracy of adjustments/information reported, including reconciliation of all transactions at the loan and portfolio level that result in basis variances and adjustments.

  10. Assist in the development of management reports and metrics illustrating the team’s performance and associated risks.

  11. Monitor and ensure adherence to the Agency and Private Investor Servicing Agreements, Regulation AB (asset-backed), Uniform Single Attestation Program (USAP) and other guidelines through all reconciliation processes.

  12. Assist as a relationship manager to represent the business unit in contacts with internal and external regulatory, government agency and investor contacts to resolve issues or to represent the Bank's interest.

  13. Gather and test internal and external (regulatory or investor) audit requests to identify potential findings; research and formulate an appropriate response prior to audit completion.

  14. Proactively assess applicable industry trends or adjustments delivered by regulatory, governmental institutions or investors.

  15. Leverage previous asset management analytical experience to help provide detailed analysis to management and acquired loans related decision making.

  16. Support new investment and acquisition needs.

  17. Assist in the analysis and redesign of processes to provide enhanced controls through improved risk management and increased reporting efficiency.

  18. Provide mentoring, guidance/training and coaching to Investor Reporting/Accounting Analysts.

  19. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of financial and process controls to ensure key risks are managed effectively.

  20. Stay abreast of the industry changes to ensure Bank support functions are compliant, utilizing best practices and appropriate technologies.

  21. Maintain relationships within Mortgage Servicing department to ensure open communication and development of procedures between departments.

  22. Manage work flow to ensure proper staffing levels.

  23. Assist in ensuring investor requirements are met regarding modifications, repurchases and short sales. Required Skills and Competencies:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related field, or equivalent education and related training

  2. Six years of experience in banking, finance, accounting, economics, operations or equivalent

  3. Four years of specialized knowledge in advanced mortgage servicing, investor reporting and accounting, including understanding of data structures and various database tools, as well as direct work experience in aggregate loan analysis

  4. Advanced knowledge of agency and government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) specific rules for Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA), Veterans Affairs (VA), Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and private investors

  5. Motivated self-starter with a proven ability to work independently to identify opportunities, mitigate financial, regulatory and compliance exposure and facilitate effective solutions through planning and execution

  6. Superior business problem resolution skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients and solve financial system problems and analysis

  7. Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills

  8. Demonstrated business and professional writing skills

  9. Advanced conflict resolution skills

  10. Effective prioritization and time management skills

  11. An understanding of the underlying asset management/servicing and decision support systems to help develop models and procedures for acquiring and reporting accurate information efficiently

  12. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

  13. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight Desired Skills:

  14. Eight years of experience in accounting, finance, banking, operations or equivalent

  15. Two years of experience in a supervisory role

  16. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or equivalent

  17. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Access database applications as a calculation and analysis tool

  18.
