Please review the following job description:

Manage the producers, both Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty, located in Southern California – currently assigned to the Anaheim, Irvine and San Diego offices. Increase new business with existing producers, increase our overall revenue and client retention rates, and recruit/on-board new producers.


Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Manage the needs of the Southern California producers and keep them in compliance with our risk profile.

  2. Increase new business sales across the board, pushing each producer to be targeting $150K new annually.

  3. Increase revenue and client retention rates, targeting 95%.

  4. Recruit and on-board new producers across the spectrum – emerging, experienced and mature.

  5. Broadly engage producer participation in our Industry Practice Groups.

  6. Broadly engage producers and support teams in developing/delivering Client Plans and Stewardship reports.

  7. Drive adoption of our technology platforms, e.g. SalesForce, MiDash, Map, etc.

  8. Consistently reinforce the McGriff CA strategy while controlling and managing the McGriff CA story to the market, leveraging regular, clear and consistent communications.

  9. Enhance McGriff’s presence & reputation in the CA marketplace.


Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training

  2. Insurance licensed

  3. Existing book of business (preferably EB) / showing sustained retention and growth

  4. Strong market connections – trading partners, carriers, wholesalers, etc.

  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ten years of leadership/management responsibilities leading large teams, regionally or nationally

  2. Track record of success in recruiting, hiring and retaining producers

  3. Quantifiable followership

  4. Profit & Loss management

  5. Risk management focus

  6. Creative problem solver
