The Lead Data Governance Consultant is responsible for supporting Data Governance across the enterprise, enabling business growth while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory expectations. The position partners with various business and technology stakeholders to influence and drive adoption of related Enterprise Data Management strategies, policies, standards and control frameworks. The role evaluates established and emerging data practices and technologies to drive the team's direction, while implementing innovative processes and solutions to provide competitive advantage while meeting rigorous control and oversight mandates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and implement processes and procedures to support data standards and control frameworks.
Provide subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of data management activities such as data & controls testing, including data quality and records management controls.
Perform oversight and inspection of critical data management practices for adherence to established data policies and control frameworks.
Aggregates, analyzes, concludes, and communicates results of testing activities to Senior Leaders.
Identify data issues and work with technology, risk and business partners to triage, track, communicate, mitigate and remediate the issues to closure.
Collaborate closely with peer teams to ensure coordination, synergy and seamless overall execution.
Champion and drive improvement in enterprise data management practices throughout the organization.
Create overall testing approach including detailed execution plan and test cases to be executed.
Manage overall aspects of day-to-day testing including scheduling and execution of test activities. Work alongside business units to walkthrough defined testing approach and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field, ten years of experience in roles with increasing responsibilities in technology, data management, governance, risk or related practice or equivalent education and related training or experience
Large program strategic planning/execution across multiple functions
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other graduate or advanced-level certification
Eight years of progressive experience managing complex IT projects
Banking or financial services experience
Well-versed in managing distributed teams comprised of both onshore and offshore
Functional and technical knowledge of data
