Please review the following job description:

Deliver technically complex solutions. Perform system integration support for all project work. Consult and partner with the business product owners to understand the end goal and offer solutions and recommendations during the design.

In this role you will be a member of the Truist Dealer Retail Services Technology team providing full system lifecycle support including development, test, and implementation of highly robust and reliable solutions. This position will also include working in collaboration with engineers in other groups to ensure that the applications adhere to corporate standards and technologies. The candidate will be expected to follow standard development methodologies and companywide best practices for engineering technical solutions that require an understanding of industry best practices. Responsibilities will include analysis, design, development, and implementation of new auto loan servicing initiatives using Microsoft T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS. Will attend second level support calls as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop customized coding, software integration, perform analysis, configure solutions, using tools specific to the project or the area.

  • Lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of solutions in adherence to company standards, including support for subsequent release testing.

  • Build in and maintain security controls and monitoring in support of company standards.

  • Take ownership of task and contribute to larger, more complex initiatives.

  • Solve complex technical and operational problems.

  • Partner with the business owners to provide solutions that meet their goals and expectations.

  • Provide application support (Hands on) including complex problem research, analysis, resolution including attending production support calls when necessary.

  • Analyze, debug, and fix batch job failures.

  • Work on multiple highly visible, business critical Application support and initiatives simultaneously.

  • In an Agile environment: Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and engage with, the business from the beginning of the design work. Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participate in refining user stories. Responsible for design, developing, and maintaining automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Responsible for providing automated monitoring capabilities, providing warranty support, and providing knowledge transfer to production support. Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and six to ten years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience

  2. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices

  3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function

  4. Ability to plan and manage projects and solve complex problems by applying best practices

  5. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of experience with T-SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Report development (SSRS)

  • Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling), SSIS packages and SSRS reports.

  • Skills in troubleshooting integrity issues, blocking/deadlocking issues, replication, connectivity, and security issues

  • Knowledge and understanding of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies

  • 2+ years of C#.NET experience

  • 2+ years of web application development experience

  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI

  • Auto Finance industry experience is an advantage

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science and/or related discipline

  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Development experience

  • Experience with source control i.e. GIT
