At Truist, this Sr. Enterprise Data Architect role will define and document the data enterprise architecture of the data management portfolio, with a focus on data lake management and data lake consumption along with the physical components and their functionality. Derives deployment specifications from business requirements, design solutions that support core organizational functions, and ensure their high availability and other performance goals. Provides integrated enterprise data architectural expertise across the organization, from conceptualization and project planning to the post-implementation support level. Key experiences would include implementing, supporting and migrating legacy data warehouses, data landing zones, on-premise data lakes as well as cloud data lakes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides Enterprise Data Architecture expertise to all business and technical teams. These include, but are not limited to, delivery, support, infrastructure, cloud administration, database administration, integration enablement and other architectural domains. The primary platform domains includeData Lake Management, Data Lake Consumption,Enterprise Content Management, Data Management & Movement, Privacy & Protection, Master Data Management and Blockchain which can be deployed in varying combinations of on premise and cloud.
Provides technical business guidance and assistance that enables current and future platform business capabilities.
Provides technical business guidance on cloud strategies and deployments.
Provides technical guidance and assistance with new technology evaluations, POCs and Pilots.
Partners with line of business (LOB) teams, the various internal technical teams and external vendors to compose business and technical specifications in compliance with enterprise policies and standards while achieving business and client service level agreements.
Identify and align platform capabilities to support business domain roadmaps
Consult on data pattern exceptions and gain platform owner approval
System matter expert forEnterprise Data Lake Architecture Solution Architects
Platform planning participant and advocate for delivery and data strategypriorities/dependencies
Contribute to platform architectural diagrams ensuring accuracy of deployments
Contribute to platform infrastructure and security blueprints
- Collaborate with platform delivery teams to compose and publish the following:
Current and target state platform architectural artifacts
Platform policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and patterns
Platform educational and onboarding materials
- Participate in Enterprise Architecture governance activities.

Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field, twelve years of experience in data warehousing architectural approaches
Ability to derive technical specifications from business requirements and express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to multi-disciplinary teams, in verbal as well as in written form
Strong functional and technical knowledge with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: Data Lake, Data Marketplace, DB2, DB2 Warehouse, UDB, Oracle, SQL/Server, Cloudera Hadoop, NoSQL, SAS-Viya, Zaloni, Spark, Python, Git, ETL/ELT tools, Informatica, Data Modeling tools, Virtual Processor solutions, Containers, Azure cloud components, AWS cloud components
- Banking or financial services experience
