Please review the following job description:

The Consumer Credit Risk and Policy Management group within the Risk Management Office has an immediate need for a Counterparty Oversight Analyst. This role will be responsible for review and evaluation of credit transactions, critical processes, business strategies and credit policy writing within the assigned portfolio segment/process coverage domain. Fundamental duties include ensuring that the risk philosophy, risk appetite, and lending strategies are adhered to while maintaining a high level of client responsiveness. Analyze financial statements and navigate a variety of financial structures, credit scenarios. Ensure consumer lending activities are executed according to Truist's policies and procedures. Builds effective relationships with Risk Management and client managers. Manage and write Consumer Credit Policy, Procedures and Guidelines following the standards set forth by the Policy Management and Governance (PMG) team. Coordinate with Business Unit (BU) and key stakeholders with regard to the development and ongoing maintenance of policies. Additional responsibilities may include assistance in training, maintenance of Loan Authority systems of record, development and interpretation of various internal reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide independent oversight, measurement, monitoring, reporting of risk, and consistency of controls for Correspondent Counterparty Risk Management

  2. Perform independent credit risk assessmentof counterparty decisions to ensure packages are properly documented, information presented is accurate, and decisions adhere to policies and proceduresand provide timely actionable feedback to first line of defense leadership

  3. Partner with reporting analysts to develop Correspondent Lender level reporting to monitor counterparty quality and production metrics

  4. Monitor mandatory commitment limits and counterparty concentration

  5. Utilize functional background and experience in partnership with BUs first and second lines of defense, Credit Risk Review and Audit to develop and implement credit policies, guidelines, and procedures

  6. Promote consistency of Bank's credit culture and lending strategies throughout organization. Responsible for championing the advancement of the organizations risk management culture, framework, and appetite

  7. Provide oversight and feedback to BU leaders on assigned portfolio or processes to ensure strong asset quality, manage risk concentrations, exceptions, and sustainable performance through business cycles

  8. Support training and communication efforts related to policies, as necessary

  9. Support the development of committee presentations by providing independent analysis and commentary

  10. Aid in the coaching and development of BU teammates

  11. Stay abreast of laws, regulations and risk management techniques to ensure compliance and best practices in risk management. Stay abreast of local and national economic trends and market conditions

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business; or equivalent education and related training.

  2. 7 years of credit related experience including underwriting/credit approval, documentation skills, modeling skills and problem loan experience

  3. 7 plus years of related experience, including consumer, small business, credit card, mortgage and wealth

  4. Consumer risk and regulatory knowledge

  5. Ability to think strategically, multi-task, and drive change

  6. Advanced quantitative, governance and analytic abilities

  7. Strong decision making capability

  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 10 plus years credit related experience

  2. Experience and knowledge of counterparty credit analysis

  3. Graduate of industry banking school(s)
