Please review the following job description:

Perform control testing and issue validation for Consumer and Small Business Banking. Assist in remediation of identified issues. Assist in the detection of emerging and/or under recognized risks. Make recommendations to Consumer and Small Business Banking businesses based on analysis of monitoring and testing results.

Performs comprehensive and risk-based monitoring for assigned business unit(s) as delegated including all tasks involved in the execution of the monitoring (e.g. scoping, report writing, vetting findings and work paper documentation) to ensure Truist’s processes are within the risk limits set by the Bank while supporting the Retail Community Bank’s strategic objectives. Prepare and evaluate monitoring results and trends for escalation, determining and documenting root causes, collaborating with 2nd line of defense and/or 1st line of defense business unit representatives to determine appropriate corrective action plan. Identify control weakness or key indicators exceeding risk limits. Coordinating mitigation or remediation activities where appropriate. Document the Retail Community Bank’s monitoring and testing program including methodologies, processes and procedures, report writing, conventions for consistently vetting and documenting findings and working papers. Develop and maintain processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy of the reports produced by the team. Develop a deep and strong working knowledge of assigned business unit systems, processes and applicable federal regulations and state laws; staying abreast of procedures and regulatory changes applicable to assigned business unit(s). Understand the Retail Community Bank’s strategic plan, key objectives and risk appetite statement to effectively monitor key indicators. Assist manager with communications to various internal risk management constituencies.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field, or equivalent education and related training Minimum 5-6 years of experience in financial services, auditing or other assurance/compliance related role or equivalent experience Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead and manage projects independently as well as in a team setting Strong interpersonal skills which allow effective working relationships with various levels within the organization Conceptual ability to analyze problems and devise solutions, including quantitative analysis and research skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership experience. Applicable certifications (e.g. CRMC, CIA, CPA, Process Master, Six Sigma, etc) Experience in other Truist divisions, lines of business and client-facing roles Retail banking experience Graduate Banking School or other Leadership Programs
