Support the development and on-going maintenance of policies and procedures throughout Mortgage Lending Administration (MLA), including credit, compliance, and operational policies and procedures that conform to regulatory and industry requirements. Coordinate with lines of business (LOBs) and stakeholders in the development of policies and procedures. Provide support to MLA department managers in the formation of standards and procedures. Consistently work within the framework for policy development, review and governance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilize functional background and experience in partnership with MLA department to develop policies and procedures.
Draft and edit general policies and procedures, serving as a resource to the MLA department managers for policy and procedure development.
Interact with various departments throughout MLA in the development of standards, guidelines and procedures that are consistent with the governing Bank policies.
Participate in the review cycle updates of all policies, standards and procedures.
Report to the MLA Change Control and Policy Procedure Manager on all policy developments and revisions.
Ensure that the drafting and revision of policy is consistent with the mission, vision and values of BB&T.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Policy Governance Officers and Corporate Compliance to effectively and efficiently respond to regulatory and industry changes that impact Bank policy.
Answer questions from MLA personnel regarding policies, standards and procedures. Required Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field, or equivalent education and related training
One year of banking and/or mortgage experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness and capacity to make sound decisions and resolve problems within span of authority in a timely and responsible manner
Ability to work independently and possess the drive, initiative and energy to begin and complete assignments
Ability to interact with all levels of management
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight Desired Skills:
Experience in writing bank policy
Knowledge of BB&T’s culture
Knowledge of BB&T’s standard software packages
Experience in compliance or legal documentation, or lending administration
