Advice Senior Leadership on Pipeline Hedge and Risk Mitigation strategies related to the combined business financial assets for a $10+ Billion dollar pipeline and warehouse. Actively manage one of the multi-billion dollar Risk Positions within the pipeline and warehouse hedge. Neutralize market and liquidity related risks on this Risk Position while minimizing the associated hedge-costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for managing a substantial Risk Position in order to preserve Initial Margin through precisely managed hedging, decreasing associated hedge-costs where possible, and maximizing Post Lock Gain on Sale Revenue through various activities and tactics with the Government Sponsored Entities (GSEs) and various Wall Street Investors
Prepare, present and implement hedging strategies to neutralize impacts to the Risk Position from market driven duration, convexity, volatility, key-rate, relative value and liquidity related. Actively utilize MBS, Swaps, Treasury Futures, Eurodollar Futures, and Options (on any of the aforementioned hedge instruments) to neutralize the aforementioned risks
Monitor Global Markets and thousands of instruments with the use of various Technical Analysis tools, techniques and methodologies and maintain a rigorous, Technical Analysis driven approach to risk management whose variable are constantly back-tested and validated for appropriateness through time. This includes trending, candle stick charting, momentum divergence, Elliott Wave, etc.
Collaborate closely with the Mortgage Trading Manager to coordinate hedging activity where appropriate, drive risk mitigation and process improvements, and aid in the management and mentoring of more junior Hedge Team staff on Fixed Income and Global Markets, MBS securitizations, Technical Analysis, Hedging, and Agency and Non-Agency markets knowledge
Evaluate hedge-effectiveness through the use of attributions, risk metric analysis, and other ad-hoc tools and reporting. Constantly evaluate risk metrics and resulting risk profiles coming from QRM Risk System for Risk Position. Lead continuous improvement efforts with risk partners to more accurately measure all risks associated with the Risk Position
Establish daily Base Price for Rate sheet generation out to both Retail and Correspondent Channels for all originations. Quickly and accurately evaluate market levels, implement margin updates to facilitate origination goals, and rigorously follow control processes to ensure accuracy on $250+ Million in daily Loan and MSR originations
Manage daily valuation of Risk Position and corresponding hedges by actively and enthusiastically tracking and monitoring TBA, Roll, and Specified Pool markets and managing and leveraging relationships with various Wall Street investors for market and valuation related color
Generate market-focused commentary and forecasting as well as ad-hoc profit and loss analysis and reporting where needed by Mortgage Trading Manager or Senior Management

Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or related quantitative degree or equivalent education and related experience
5+ Years of Capital Markets Experience
5+ Years of Risk Management Experience
In-depth understanding of Technical Analysis
Master’s Degree in Finance
7+ Years of Capital Markets Experience at a Top 5 Originator or Top 5 Broker/Dealer
7+ Years of Risk Management Experience with emphasis in Hedging Pipeline or MSR at a Top 5 Originator
Knowledge of Programming
