Please review the following job description:

Assist with strengthening portfolio performance via portfolio management activities for direct to Small Business lending and look for ways to optimize portfolio profitability, growth and quality. Execute on line review, loss mitigation efforts, portfolio analysis and requested analytics for the Bank’s Small Business segment to ensure comprehensive, systematic risk management consistent with the Bank’s defined risk appetite and framework.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Translate risk appetite into prudent risk processes through effective policies, procedures and limits.

  2. Execute on daily, weekly, and monthly tasks related to portfolio management such as running databases, producing reports, and evaluating lines of credit for suspension.

  3. Partner with Retail Collections to find ways to reduce losses.

  4. Provide “end-to-end” execution of risk analytics projects, including support for resulting implementation/ systems projects.

  5. Assist the Small Business Portfolio Risk Manager in reviewing early warning metrics to mitigate losses.

  6. Look for ways to streamline monitoring processes and enhance the loan renewal process.

  7. Partner with regional teammates to aid their understanding of the renewal process and aid them in monitoring their renewals.

  8. Conduct special projects as requested, such as reviewing the loan servicing platform for issues, and special risk analysis.

  9. Monitor the review of lines of credit to ensure consistency in the Line Review process.

  10. Assist in monitoring performance of loans transitioned from the Commercial segment to the Retail Small Business segment.

  11. Provide mentoring and coaching to junior teammates

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, equivalent education, or related training

  2. 7+ years of large bank experience with emphasis in loan administration and credit risk management

  3. Strong credit and analytical skills

  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills

  5. Knowledge of bank operations/systems, compliance/regulatory issues

  6. Experience in a multi-project work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree, equivalent additional education or related training

  2. Graduate of higher level banking school or involvement in industry groups

  3. Experience in multi-project/responsibility environment

  4. Small business underwriting or quality assurance experience strongly preferred.

  5. Experience using Sprint system

  6. Small business policy knowledge
